Live loading in pumps or mounts with Belleville Washers
Disc springs (Belleville washers) are used in pumps to maintain precise screw preload, preventing loosening from thermal contraction and vibration. Particularly in Side channel pump for Liquefied Petroleum Gas and diaphragm pump.
In the case of Slurry pump, its elastic element is the rubber coated metal disc spring, the disc spring can effectively avoid the failure of spring block caused by the impurities. Also the structure of this seal is very compact, has very small requirement of the install space.
Belleville washers on pump mounts manage thermal expansion, maintain bolt tension, and prevent loosening due to vibration. They allow the pump casing to expand freely as temperatures change, preventing casing distortion or bearing failures.
