Disc Spring stacks for Mechanical Spring Starters
|
|
Spring starters uses disc springs also called Belleville washers as the energy storage medium.
Disc spring stacks are compressed manually by a nut on a ball-screw as the winding handle is turned and then energy of Compressed Disc spring stack is released quickly to diesel engine flywheel to start the engine.
Spring starter motor needs only hand cranking and releasing Disc spring energy without other power consumption.
Its resistance to damp and extreme temperatures makes them ideal for marine applications. |
