Disc Spring stacks for Heat Expansion compensator
Apr 28, 2026
Heat expansion compensator is a preloaded mechanical connection system utilizing a combination of disc spring stacks and an eye bolt to absorb thermal expansion and maintain load stability.
Eye bolt provides a flexible connection point, allowing slight movement and transmitting loads to the disc spring stack.
Disc springs act as an elastic buffering element. They provide a constant preload, absorb axial displacements and thermal expansion, and prevent loosening caused by thermal cycling.
Under ambient conditions, Disc springs are pre-compressed to generate a preload. When the temperature rises, the structure expands, causing the eye bolt to undergo slight displacement. Disc springs are then further compressed, thereby compensating for loosening caused by thermal expansion.
Heat expansion compensator is commonly used in continuous casting machines, heat exchangers, boilers, Furnaces and ovens.
