In modern mechanical power transmission systems, overload protection is critical. One of the most widely used solutions is the friction-based torque limiter, where slippage protects critical components from damage. The key element in this system is sliding hub, combined with a disk springs stack.

 

Sliding hub is a central functional component in friction-based torque limiters, such as the Sliding Hub FS Torque Adjustable system. Disk springs provide axial preload for sliding hub.

 

During operation, Disk springs apply axial force, Friction surfaces are tightly compressed, Torque is transmitted through the sliding hub without slip.

 

When external torque exceeds the preset limit, Friction force is overcome, Sliding hub begins to slip against the friction interface, thereby achieving overload protection.
